About Us

The DFW Brick Council members consists of independent brick distributors and associate members who are their suppliers. The Council works together to:
a) Promote the use of brick in order to increase its market share
b) Safeguard the brick industry
c) Foster and promote sound business and ethical standards and
practices in the brick industry
d) Hold meetings and conferences for the mutual improvement and
education of members
e) Acquire, preserve and disseminate data and valuable information
relative to the functions, uses, benefits and accomplishments of the brick industry.
f) Encourage and promote cordial relations among the brick industry.

Meet our Members

Brett Packer is the third-generation owner and President of Packer Brick in Garland, Texas, just east of Dallas. His company sells primarily to custom home builders and remodelers in North Texas and specializes in selling reclaimed brick.  Brett has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Brick Industry Association for the past two years and as Chairman of the DFW Brick Council for the past eight years. He also sits on the BIA-SOUTHWEST REGION Board. Brett enjoys hiking, kayaking, and hunting in his spare time.

Chuck Keepers has been in the brick business since 1975 when he started with Houston Brick & Tile.  He joined Master Brick to become its General Manager in 1999. Master Brick represents the Santa Clara plants. Plant 1 is a brick plant with the capacity of 168 million brick per year. The brick are made in a 4 sizes and a wide array of beautiful colors.  Plant 2 is a state-of-the-art clay block plant.  The clay block is made in 4″ thickness for stucco walls and full 8″ thickness for structural walls.  Plant 2 also produces a structural roof system using clay block for a complete green masonry building.  These clay products are considerably lighter yet stronger than concrete. Chuck is responsible for sales in Houston and Dallas and also oversees distributors in several states.  He is an Army veteran and served in the Viet Nam era.

Dennis L. Calander started in the brick business at the age of 16 making the brick business his first job to current. Now almost 35 years later Metro Brick & Stone, founded in 1983,  has become a well known name in the industry.   Metro Brick & Stone provides brick and stone for high end residential and commercial projects all over the United States. In Addition it added a stone quarry in 2001 making Metro Brick & Stone provider of the well-known Granbury stone, along with other great products such as masonry mix, sand, lintels, Firerock fireplaces, used brick and much much more.

Dennis Thomas began his career in the clay brick industry in January 1984 at Texas Clay Industries in Malakoff, Texas as salesman for the East Texas area. In late 1998, Texas Clay was bought by Acme Brick at which time Dennis left and began his own company, Clay Structures, Inc., a brick distributorship. Offices in two locations (Mabank and Dallas), allow for broad coverage and convenience for commercial and custom home builders as well as the do-it-yourselfers. Dennis is a member of the Brick Industry Association and is currently a member of the DFW Brick Council. Dennis enjoys raising cattle and horses.
